When you say "13th Step" I think of the misguided and warped tendency for (usually) new members to hook on to some (usually) highly inappropriate romantic relationship instead of keeping the focus on their sobriety (AA) or their OWN recovery (AFG). there is no 13th Step. Much better to do true, honest, from a Recovered heart 12th Step work, carrying the message, not the mess.
Barb….yes, the 13th step reference is a feeble attempt at humor. Thanks for the input

oops, i left something off. When traveling, I consult the Al-Anon World Service Office http://www.al-anon.org/ for meeting schedules where I am – and have dropped in on meetings in Calgary AB, Shreveport LA, Dallas TX at just the right time with just the right message. We have an amazing fellowship and wherever I pull up a couch is home. God bless everyone who supports their home group so there's a chair for the newcomer or the wandering traveler.
